E3 Expo 2011_Day 1

We woke up early and checked out of our nightmare of a hotel. Time to go on the hunt for a new hotel before E3.
After driving around for 15 minutes we settled on the “Georgian Hotel” located in Santa Monica. Perfect location, right across the street from the beach. The hotel has an vintage feel. I highly recommend this hotel next time you stay in Santa Monica.
Finally on our way to the convention center. Luckily we missed all the traffic since we arrived a little late. The exterior of the convention center was so full of energy. Music pumping loud at the NOS booth.
As soon as we walk in my husband runs to the “Warhammer 40,000″ booth. You should of seen the smile on his face. I think I know what I will be getting him for christmas.
I’m on sensory overload for over three hours. Too much happening! I was so excited to see the “Gears of War” booth. So much detail on this model. Also the most sought after giveaway. The “Mind Craft” box head. People stood in line for over two hours to get one of these. Unfortunately, I missed out by 20 minutes. Gonna search on E-bay for one of these bad boys….
The best part of Day 1 was the Atari booth. My husband won a vintage 1979 Asteriods cabinet!!! He got the top score of the day. I can’t believe he won it! He was in disbelief. It didn’t hit him until later in the trip.
It was a fun day. Full of surprises (can’t believe my husband won Asteriods!). But by the end of the day our feet hurt so bad! It was time to eat a great dinner and enjoy each others company. Can’t wait for Day 2:)
